Faculty of Economics
The goal of Faculty of Economics is to foster an individual, 1) who understands and deals with the future society in which informatization, globalization and aging will be rapidly progressed, 2) who possesses the professional knowledge and 3) who has acquired a wide range of culture, through small class education system and qualified campus life.
The Faculty of Economics consists of three departments: The Department of Economics, The Department of Business System, and The Department of Regional System. A student selects his/her department during the latter half of the sophomore year through choice of the seminar. The Faculty provides enhanced curriculum in which students can learn both of the theories and practices fully.
We have the workshop classes for the students of all the grades, each of which has only about twelve students. This small class system enables the students to brush up their individuality through direct interaction with professors.
The freshman year is the one of “Basic Learning”, when they learn the basics of learning at a university, including guidance of registration. The sophomore year is the one of “Intermediate Workshop”, in which the introduction to each professional area is given in a dialog form. Then, “Workshop” of the junior and the senior year is the time of professional education and researches. A graduation thesis is also planned and written during this period.
